A Model 1933 Sturmabteilung Dienstdolch by Anton Wingen Jr. of Solingen. The blade on this one looks good. The acid etched “Alles für Deutschland” motto and knight “Anton Wingen Jr. Solingen” maker mark are both dark crisp and beautifully executed. The blade sows some age. It retains good crossgrain. The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. The blade rates a Exc+/Exc++. The sheet metal based brown anodized scabbard nicely matches the hilt. It retains 99% of its original factory lacquered finish. The solid nickel-silver scabbard fittings have nicely patinaed. The ball has been crushed and is split to one side. All four screws remain intact. The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect. The solid nickel-silver crossguards are in wonderful shape matching the scabbard’s patina perfectly. The reverse of the lower crossguard is Gau stamped “He” (Hessen). The dark redwood grip looks excellent. There are two wee flakes next to the lower reverse guard. It has perfect fits. The solid nickel eagle is beautifully detailed. The SA roundel has a perfect fit and retains 99%+ of its enamel. Never been in a collection.
