Senior Forestry Dagger by WKC with Bone Grip

The 11 1/2 inch, triple etched blade on this one looks great! The stamped “WKC” knights head maker mark is beautifully executed! The etching wonderfully displays: bores, stags, dogs, birds and hunters all in hunting settings. The spine pattern is an elegant leaf motif. The tip and fit are both perfect. The blade rates Exc+. There is some age grey and etch fading throughout. The original brown leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The scabbard has a black leather body that only shows a few scuffs. All of the stitching continues to remain intact. The fittings are brass based and gilded. They have scalloped edges where they meet the shell. Underneath both of the fittings is a “45” stamped bench mark. The upper fitting has the standard acorn lug. The hilt is brass based and gold gilded as well. The D-guard begins with a detailed hoof, and after passing through the crossguard and ends in a detailed hoof. The clamshell is the deluxe type displaying the hunting dog. The chip-free bone grip plates have striations throughout, as they should. They do have minor wear but no chips or cracks. These plates are decorated with six detailed acorns and oak leaf motifs, increasing in size to the largest at the top. Overall this detailed senior, bone gripped Forestry is a real prize! A fine example that would complement your collection quite nicely!
