Here's one we don't come by every day! It was awarded for Merit in the Fire Service, issued in 1926-1933. It is constructed out of a die struck tombak base that has been gold gilded. The obverse features a centrally placed Prussian eagle below “Preussen” and above “Republik”, which is in front of two crosses fire axes and below a fire helmet and above “Wesen” two swagger sticks, a wreathe and bow. It also reads “Verdienst um das feuer lösch” (merit to the fire-extinguishing). The full-back reverse reads: “Original Ges Geschützt” and shows a round wire catch, black hinge and straight round wire pin. It holds excellent gilding and depicts nice detail!
