Blade is a plated example with a nice frosted etch. This pattern know in collecting circles as the "Pioneer" pattern has a clear remembrance motto with a Pioneer Scene to the right. A similar pattern can be seen in Techet's reference pg 134 but with tank scene. The pioneer scene is the same as that shown on pg 158. The blade has no sharpening. It sports the correct etched Pack maker mark. It certainly rates NM. The hilt has excellent plating at least 99%. The back of the spine has a few small taps. The release button works fine and the mortise slot is filled with a red felt plug. The grip plates are damage free being retained with 2 spanner bolts so common to these Packs. The scabbard is a good undented example with some paint wear with scratches and scuff from normal period wear. Leather buffer is intact. Thus pattern is Very Rare.
