Eickhorn Transitional SS Dagger

I always hear guys saying I eventually want an SS dagger, but I just can't afford one. Well, here's your chance! The bright blade on this one looks good. The RZM 941/37/SS ? Original Eickhorn Solingen maker marks and Meine Ehre heisst Treue motto look great! Nice and dark like you want to see them. The tip comes to a sharp point and the blade / crossguard fit sits just right. The blade rates Exc. It appears as though it has been heavily cleaned / buffed and there is still one or two wee spots. The black period re-painted scabbard looks good. There is some paint loss and rough spots, yet it remains dent-free. The solid nickel scabbard fittings are in excellent condition and match the crossguards in color and wear. All four screws remain intact and unturned and the ball remains perfectly round. The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect and closes with a snap! The solid nickel crossguards look great. The reverse of the lower crossguard is lightly district stamped "III" (Berlin) unusual for a transitional but certainly not unknown. All the angles are correct and the grip / crossguard fits are perfect. The black has a few chips and two repairs. Looks to me like the previous collector tried to fill in the two chips. Were this mine I would send the grip to Witty and have it professionally fixed. Finding an SS grip with no chips is hard to come by. The solid nickel eagle is beautifully detailed and sits perfectly in the grip. The SS roundel retains 100% of its enamel and also has a perfect fit. It is slightly turned to the right. This one would look great in your collection!
