Extremely Rare Cased Eagle Order with Swords

Try finding one of these again! For those of you who don't know, finding this case with the extra inscription ?mit Schwertern" (with swords) is extremely rare! Examples like this just don't come around. The medal is a 1939 pattern, die struck, silver Order of the German Eagle with swords. The obverse of the round award features a centrally placed embossed Maltese style cross, with four national eagles to each corner of the cross. The reverse reads: "Deutsche Verdienst-Medaille" (German Order of Merit). To the bottom edge of the medal is the maker mark: "Pr. M?nze Berlin? and the silver content designation ?835?. Above the medal, mounted to the medal loop, are two crossed broad swords! Also attached to the loop is a ring and approximately 1 1/2 inches of red, black and white rayon ribbon. To the reverse of the ribbon has a sown on brass pin, which is in well working condition! The case features a simulated, pebbled red leather covering. The simulated leather remains in excellent shape! The top of the case has an impressed, gilded national eagle. The front has a spring loaded closure button, which functions well. The reverse has an internal bar hinge, which also functions well. The bottom interior of the case is made of a black flocking material and outlines an Eagle Order with Swords. The interior of the top of the case has an underlying pad and is lined with white satin. The white satin has the rare, gold gilded: "Deutsche Verdienst Medaille Mit Schwertern" (German Order of Merit with swords)! A very nice, complete, extremely rare example that you will honestly be proud that you own!
