Here's a good honest piece that I picked up from the Vet's family last month. The grip had some chips so I decided to send it off to have them repaired. The unmarked blade has been polished, there is evidence the cleaning that has lightened the motto somewhat. It measures a full 220mm. There are still traces of crossgraining. I rate this blade Exc/Exc+. The hilt fittings are nickel. All the angles are correct. There is honest wear on the grip. It does have a few hairlines and some flaking. Now I say that and it's all solid. If this piece is taken care of properly the grip will remain looking good. It is properly inlaid with a nickel eagle and a nice set of runes retaining all its enamel. Scabbard looks great! The scabbard was repainted when I got the grip fixed. The ball is perfect. The chain looks great with awesome detail! The correct first upper link is SS proof stamped and is lighter than the Type I, which is exactly how they were. no it's not perfect but as always I have shared all the restoration done, it's also not 10k!
