A hefty and solid earlier personalized RAD! The blade on this one looks fine. The acid etched "Arbeit adelt" motto and "RADJ Ges. Gesch.", "Ed. Wüsthof Solingen" maker marks continue to look good. The tip comes to a perfect point and it has a nice and solid fit! It rates Exc. It shows heavy age greying and pitting and the commonly seen surface scratches throughout. The steel based black painted enamel scabbard looks good. The scabbard body shows oxidization pitting yet remains dent free and holds a dark finish. The brass based nickel-silver plated and burnished fittings provide wonderful detail, throughout the RAD logo's and decorative interweaving top patterns! Four screws remain intact, three are replacements. The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect and closes with a snap! The brass based, nickel-silver plated hilt is in great condition. It is personalized to the obverse reading: "F L". It shows minor hilts to the spine. It retains 90%+ plating coverage. The stag grip plated have beautifully aged, providing wonderful contrasting yellow/brown colors that only time can create. There are no cracks of chips anywhere and they remain tightly secured. A solid piece earlier personalize piece!
