A great matching example here! The more desirable plated blade on this one looks great! The stamped "Paul Weyersberg & Co Solingen" maker mark and proof mark just above it are beautifully executed! It has a perfect tip and perfect fit. The plating looks great as well, giving it a nice mirror like finish! The blade on this one rates an Exc++. It shows runner marks, surface scratches. The original blue pebbled buffer pad remains intact. The correct steel based, plated scabbard looks excellent! It depicts awesome details throughout with the random pebbling, oak leaves and acorns. It remains completely dent free and the two headless retaining screws remain intact! The burnished aluminum Luftwaffe eagle crossguard has amazing detail to its head, feathers, wings and top side oak leaves and acorns. The burnished aluminum pommel is beautifully hand enhanced to the sides and has those two proud gold gilded swastika you want to see, surrounded by oak leaves and acorns. The gold gilding has faded and appears muted as often happens with Weyersberg examples. The early trylon grip has aged to a nice warm orange. It has a few minor spots throughout yet no cracks, chips or splits. The aluminum springy wire wrap remains tightly intact. A nicely matching Paul Weyersberg piece with some excellent features!
