Prinzregent Luitpold Medaille in Bronze. The Prince Regent Luitpold Medal was donated on June 30, 1905 by Prince Regent Luitpold. This medal was awarded "by its own motion" to commoners who by their activity have faithfully and firmly become the royal house. It is constructed out of a die stamped bronze base that has been bronze washed. The oval shaped obverse features a centrally placed portrait of Luitpold arched below “Luitpold Prinz Regent von Bayern” and above a laurel leaf a berry cluster. The reverse displays a Wittelsbach crowned Bavarian flag crest arched below “In Treue Fest” and “1905” (19 to the left and 05 to the right. To the top is an integral loop and ring which is attached to a parade style ribbon. The award measures 1 ¼ inches wide by 1 ½ inches tall. The reverse of the ribbon bar features a well working pin, hinge and catch assembly. A nice piece!
