Early SA Dagger by J. Dirlam & Söhne

Please note this item is no longer available and you were redirected to our Archives.

Here we have a nice rare Model 1933 SA Dagger (Sturmabteilung Dienstdolch) by J. Dirlam & Söhne of Solingen. The blade on this one is bright with evidence it's been cleaned. There are some "nail-catchers" so the edge like someome hit this against another edge, kids playing swords? The crisp acid etched “Alles fur Deutschland” motto and “J. Dirlam & Söhne Solingen” manufacturer’s mark are both nicely executed! The fit is nice and tight and tip comes to a perfect point! It shows the age graying and the common runner marks. The anodized scabbard is steel based with small hits and wee dents you can feel with your fingers. The solid nickel silver scabbard fittings look good with small bruises! The screws all remain. The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect and closes with a snap! The crossguards match the scabbard fittings in wear, color and patina. The reverse of the lower crossguard is Gruppe stamped “Ha”. The chip and crack-free brown hardwood grip looks excellent! It is really very nice. The solid nickel eagle is beautifully detailed and has a perfect fit. The SA roundel also has a perfect fit and retains 98%+ of its enamel. A very rare maker mark rating a 10 out of 10 on the McSaar.
