Austrian M16 Transitional SD Helmet
Re-furbished construction Austrian M16 helmet retains most of its rough textured field-grey over-paint. The left side of the helmet has an Wehrmacht eagle decal which is retained about 95%. The two forward liner retaining rivets, both of the extended ventilation side lugs and both of the early chinstrap retaining rivets are intact. The interior of the helmet has an M31 dark brown leather liner with the metal liner band still intact. Liner is nice and complete and is size marked "58". Someone, likely in the period has puched some old German newspaper up under the liner between the leather and the steel which I'm leaving, likely was insulation. Chinstrap remains. Shows the expected age, but overall excellent condition.
