A Municipal Police Bayonet with Frog by WKC of Solingen. The full length 12" plated blade on this one looks great! It retains a nice and bright mirror like finish along with a perfect fit and sharp tip! The stamped maker mark is beautifully executed under the clamshell! The blade rates a solid Exc++/NM. It shows the common runner marks but certainly NM. The black leather scabbard body looks good! It has the common scuffs and age crazing. It continues to retain all of its stitching and the four vertical lines running through it giving it that finishing touch of German detail! The undented nickel based scalloped scabbard fittings remain in excellent condition, matching the hilt in color and patina. Both staples remain intact. The crossguard is unmarked as one would expect on a private purchase example. The scabbard snugly fits the hilt and the blade completely bottoms out on the hilt as it should. It depicts wonderful detail throughout, with the oak leaves, acorns and eagle head pommel. The multi-toned stag grip plates are tightly secured with two tomabac rivets. The centrally placed burnished 2nd pattern aluminum police eagle is properly pined and retains nice detail! Look at the clamshell! really a treat to find this. Comes with the correct black municipal frog. An excellent and very rare police bayonet!
