Here we have a nice example of a 1936 pattern Municipal Shako by Hans Romer complete with black horse hair plume. It is constructed out of a rigid black vulcan-fiber body with a green wool covering. The obverse features the correct silvered aluminium cap eagle and cockade. The cockade has about 95% of its original paint still intact along with some age stain. The exterior wool is in fine shape remaining free of mothing. The top piece and front/back visors show minor age spidering and retain all their stitching. The chin strap is intact with minor spidering. The interior looks great. The brown leather liner remains intact with only minor age staining/scuffs. It is personalized/named, “Hamm 71 Ling”. The draw string is a leather thong. The top it is maker marked: "Hans Romer Neu-Ulm (Danau) Echt Fiber-Tschako" and ink stamped “59 1/2”. The decal has much wear say 5-% intact. Overall it's a fine piece.
