Numbered - Model 1933 - Schutzstaffel Dienstdolch by Ernst Pack & Sohne of Solingen. The blade on this one looks great. The acid etched “Meine Ehre Heißt Treue” motto and Jung Siegfried wielding a hammer “E. P. & S. Solingen” maker mark are both beautifully executed. The remaining crossgrain looks excellent as you shine it in the light. The blade is nicely seated up against the hilt and the and the tip comes to a perfect point. The blade rates Exc++. It shows heavy scratches, mostly concentrated towards the tip along with age grey and spotting throughout. The steel based black anodized scabbard looks good. It has minor scratches and the slightest bump scratch to the reverse. The nickel-silver based scabbard fittings look good. The lower fittings has been replaced and the patina is slightly off. All four screws show evidence of being turned. The ball is perfectly round. It takes some effort to remove the dagger from the scabbard. The scabbard to crossguard fit is perfect. The solid nickel-silver crossguards look excellent. The underside is SS Numbered: “264824”, perhaps with some research you could find out who’s this was. The reverse of the lower crossguard is stamp “I” (Munich). The black died hardwood grip looks great. There are typical bumps and bruises throughout. There is a crack above the roundel and a 1 1/4 inch scratch to the top right of the eagle. The solid nickel-silver eagle is beautifully detailed and has a nice fit. The SS roundel retains 99% of its enamel and also has a perfect fit. Overall, a fine example.
