Here's we have a Model 1938 Deutsches Rotes Kreuz (German Red Cross) Hewer! The blade on this one shows wear, spotting and darkening. The sharp teeth to the saw back are in perfect condition! It has a solid fit as well. The blade rates Exc. The thick brown leather buffer pad remains intact. The scabbard is steel based and black enamel painted. It shows spidering age and scratches throughout throughout as well as a hit to the lower reverse. It continues to retain 90%+ paint coverage. The steel based nickel plated scabbard fittings retain all four screws. plating is at least 99%. The alloy based nickel-silver plated hilt looks fine with excellent plating and patina matching the scabbard. They hay some yellowing to the laquer. The correct checkered/smooth grip plates are in excellent condition. They are tightly secured by two steel screws. A reasonably priced dagger from an old collection.
