A beautiful blade and a rare maker, nice! This one rates 9 out of 10 for rarity! The bright blade on this one looks excellent! The acid etched "Alles für Deutschland" motto and "Carl Haas Sol.-Wald" maker mark are both crisp and beautifully executed! The crossgrain is easily visible from hilt to tip. The fit remains nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point! This blade rates Exc++/NM. It shows just the slightest surface scratches and spotting throughout. The steel based, brown anodized scabbard looks wonderful! It continues to hold 80% of its original factory lacquer coating, remains completely dent free and has a beautiful brown finish to it! The solid nickel scabbard fittings look great matching the crossguards perfectly. The ball has a wee bump to it yet it retains a nice round shape. All four screws remain tightly intact. The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect and closes with a snap! The reverse of the lower crossguard is marked "He" (Hessen). The brown hardwood grip looks good. There are a few hairline cracks and flakes throughout along with the common pressure marks. The solid nickel eagle retains beautiful detail! The SA roundel has a perfect fit and retains 99%+ of its enamel. A great piece with a rare maker!
