Very nice quality, private purchase, navy blue wool/rayon construction, three quarter length, double breasted style jacket features fold back, peak lapels and a lay down collar and has two, vertical, parallel, rows of five front closure buttons with corresponding button eyelets on both the left and right front panels. The top button on each side are ornamental and not functional. The fold back peak lapels also have a single ornamental button eyelet to each. The right breast has a hand embroidered national breast eagle in gilt wire threads with gold accent threads, mounted on a cut-out, navy blue, wool base with just a bit of mothing. The other side has a ribbon bar. The eagle is neatly handstitched to the jacket. The left breast features a small, slightly diagonally angled, horizontal slash, pocket and two sets of award loops. Look close here and you can see that an award was worn there for a long time. The jacket has two, horizontal slash, front hip pockets with straight edged flaps. The sleeves have straight cut, non-adjustable cuffs and each sleeve has dual, parallel, horizontally ribbed, woven gilt wire, horizontal rank tress strips. The tress strips features two, raised, horizontal bars and a recessed waffle pattern. Technical Officer cigwheels in bullion are positioned above the rank tress. The interior of the jacket is fully lined in black rayon. The lining has a horizontal slash pocket to both the left and right front breast panels. All the buttons are the fire gilted, stamped, magnetic sheet metal type with an embossed, fouled, anchor on a horizontally ribbed field with a simulated, twisted, rope outer border. The buttons are all still clean and bright and appear to have their original stitching. There is a small patch repair to the inside and a few small holes that have been stitched up. Pls note I have lightened the pics deliberately to show these well. The jacket is roughly a size 36" chest. Shows the expected age and use.
