Early Tiger-stripe SA by Ed. Wusthof

A really interesting early example by Ed. Wusthof! The blade on this one has a bit of age. The crisp acid etched "Alles fur Deutschland" motto and "Ed. Wusthof Solingen" maker mark are both beautifully executed! It's been cleaned and the blade shows minor age. It has a perfect fit and perfect tip! The blade rates an Exc+ with good crossgrain. The steel based, brown anodized scabbard is in great condition! It shows a bit of oxidization spotting yet remains completely dent free! The solid nickel scabbard fittings look excellent! The ball continues to retain its round shape and all four scabbard screws remain intact. The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect and it closes with a snap! The reverse of the lower crossguard is Gau stamped, albeit a poor of center strike "OST". The grip / crossguard fits are perfect! The red tigerstipe hardwood grip looks great, it's got a fine hairline about an inch long running up from the obverse lower crossguard. You have to hold this just so to find it. There are wee pressure marks throughout from normal period wear but no cracks or flakes. Reverse is personalized "FF"The solid nickel eagle is beautifully detailed! The SA roundel has a perfect fit and retains 100% of its enamel. I have owned hundreds of SA's but it's just so rare to find a tiger-stripe grip like this I could not let it slip away!
