German Singing Association Pin for a gathering in Saarbrücken on September 8-9 1934. The German Singing Association (DSB) was on September 21, 1862 u. a. founded by Carl Gerster in Coburg and was the world's largest amateur choir federation. As an independent association, it existed until the year 2005 and united 1.8 million members in nearly 22,000 choirs as well as choir-affiliated instrumental and dance groups in Germany and abroad. It is constructed out of a die stamped bronze base that has been burnished. The rectangular shaped obverse features a centrally placed harp behind an oak leaf and acorn, underneath “Deutsches Sängerbund Gaufest” and above “Nahe-Mosel-Saar 8/9. Sept. 1934 Saarbrücken”. The hollow back reverse features a horizontally soldered-on well working tombak pin assembly. It measures 1 inch wide by 1 3/8 inches tall. A unique piece!
