2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger by Tiger
A M1937 Fliegerdolch by Tiger of Solingen. The blade on this one has some age greying. The stamped tiger “Tiger Solingen” maker mark is crisp and beautifully executed. The fit is nice and tight. The blade rates Exc+. It has some age spotting throughout and the typical surface scratches. The brown leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The scabbard is steel based and airplane gray finished. It is in excellent condition with no dents or oxidization. It depicts beautiful detail throughout with the random pebbling, oak leaves and acorns. The throat retaining screw remains intact. The aluminum based crossguard looks excellent with nicely detailed burnished backgrounds. The eagles head, feathers, wings and top side embossed oak leaves and acorns are all well executed. The steel ferrule and burnished aluminum pommel both look excellent matching the guard. The white celluloid over plaster grip is in excellent condition. It has the odd spot, yet no cracks or chips. The dual twisted brass wire wrap remains intact, though a wee bit loose. A desirable maker purchased from the Vet's family.
