Forestry Officer’s Visor Cap by Meyer & Römer

Sonderklasse - Reichsforstdienst Schirmmütze für Offiziere by Meyer & Römer of Frankfurt. It is constructed out of a field-green wool, with a forest-green wool center-band and forest-green piping. Attached to the obverse is a Forestry style silvered aluminum eagle above a tri-color cockade and in silver rolled and twisted flatwire/bullion an oak leaf an acorn wreath. To each side is a peened on multi-piece silvered aluminum pebbled side button that holds the silver interwoven bullion chin cord in place. There is a black patent lacquered visor peak that shows some crazing. The interior features a light tan leather sweatband that has perforations to the forehead and a silk bow tie to the back. The base and edges of the interior are lined in a gold-colored silk/velvet lining under a clear diamond moisture shield. It is manufacture marked in gold foil “Meyer & Römer Frankfurt am main Kaiserstr. 67 Sonderklasse”. All of the stitching appears to remain intact. The interior cork is degrading with bits falling off. Minor to no mothing. Excellent condition!
