Anton Wingen Jr Partial Ground Rohm SA Dagger

I honestly love these pieces! They really give you a true sense of history just by holding them in your hand. The bright blade on this one looks great! The acid etched "Anton Wingen Solingen" maker mark and "Alles Fur Deutschland" / "In herzlicher Kameradschaft Ernst Rohm" mottos are all beautifully executed! The etching, both back and front exactly match in depth and color. I would say about 45% of Ernst Rohm's name remains visible, even despite Hitler's edict. On these, the more of the name remaining, the better! The crossgrain remains evident in the light, it has a solid fit and comes to a sharp point. The blade rates Exc. The blade has been cleaned in an attempt at removing the age grey/spotting, some of it still remains. It has been retipped and is 7mm short, and it was a nice job because I didn't notice it until I measured. The brown anodized scabbard remains in beautiful condition! It has the slightest pressure mark to the reverse, but hardly worth mentioning. The solid nickel fittings are also in beautiful condition and match the crossguards in color and wear! The ball has a wee bruise to the bottom, yet retains its original round shape. All four remain intact and unturned! The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect and closes with a snap! The reverse of the guard is stamped "Wm" (Westmark). The solid multi-toned hardwood grip looks awesome! One wee chip to the top-right hand corner but no cracks or splits anywhere. The correct nickel-silver eagle is perfectly fit and retains beautiful details throughout. The SA roundel also has a perfect fit and retains 100% of its enamel. A nice example, with real history at 1/3 of the price you would expect to pay for a Full Rohm!
