The Abraham Schnittert, WASSO, Stahlwarenfabrik, company was founded in 1844. It registered with the Solingen chamber of commerce on January 14, 1896. In the 1922 Solingen und sein Industriebezirk advertisement above, Schnittert lists its specialty as: "Drop-forged steel scissors, straight razors, table knives and forks, pocket knives, butchers' and shoemakers' knives, silver-plated cutlery, corkscrews and razor strops". Come the Third Reich, early era SA daggers were made-Fisher estimates 3,000, though it was likely a lot less. On 1939, the company was located on Hahnenhausstrasse 10 in Solingen-Wald. The business survived the war and moved to Siegen in Westphalian. On August 7, 1964, the company registered with the District Court of Siegen. There the company made: kitchen knives, razors and table cutlery. In 1982, the company moved back to Solingen and was recorded at Adolf-Clarenbach-Strasse 30. On May 16, 1983, the business ceased trading.
