C. Gustav Neeff, Solingen
The C. Gustav Neeff, Stahlwarenfabrik, company was founded in 1906. In its beginnings the company made: cutlery, scissors and manicure instruments. In 1920, a building was purchased in New York, which was used as a storefront, shop and living quarters. Neeff registered with the Solingen Chamber of Commerce on August 15, 1927. Come the Third Reich era, early SA daggers were made, Fisher estimates 1,000. In 1936, the company was located on Billowstrasse 33 in Solingen and from 1939 to 1986 on Pfaffenberger Weg 38.
