The Carl Tillmanns Söhne KG Taschenmesserfabrikant (1896) / Stahlwarenfabrik limited partnership began in 1885. It registered in Solingen on September 24, 1923. The business was owned by Carl and Robert Tillmanns in 1900. The company specialized in: knives, metalware, pocket and lock knives. By 1914, Robert Tillmanns was the sole owner. In 1920, knives of all types were being manufactured. Three years later flatware and professional scissors were their preferred offering. In 1932, the company was located in Solingen on Felder Straße 47-54. In 1935, the owners were listed as Carl Aug. Tillmanns and Wilh Clauberg. That year Tillmanns received its RZM license M7/61, yet lost it a few months later on October 14, 1935. As well as HJ knives, SA/NSKK daggers were being manufactured during the Third Reich era. By 1939, the sole owner was Wilh Clauberg. In 1982, the company relocated to Germanenstraße 53 and to Wuppertaler Straße in 1999. The company re-branded itself to "Pico Elektra" and now focuses on metal: etchings, machines, stencils and accessories.
