E. Lüttges & Co., Solingen


The E. Lüttges & Co., Stahlwarenfabrik, company began in 1868. It registered in Solingen on April 10, 1900. Lüttges advertised the sale of all types of: knives, scissors, straight razors and manicure articles. In 1909, Lüttges registered its trademark of: a man lifting an object with block-and-tackle. Lüttges & Co. advertised the sale of collapsible Christmas tree candles, igniters and extinguishers. In 1914, the owners were listed as Emil and Richard Lüttges. In 1930, Eugen Lüttges was the sole owner. Come the Third Reich, early era SA daggers were made. Fisher estimates about 2,000. In 1935, the firm did not receive and RZM license. In 1939, the company was recorded at Kronprinzenstrasse 21 in Solingen-Ohligs. In 1971, Lüttges & Co. was recorded at Junkerstrasse 22. A company operating in Solingen under the Lüttges name sells metal and plastic products.
