The Josef Schlimbach, Tafelmesserfabrik / Stahlwarenfabrik, company began sometime prior to 1929. Rust free cutlery was made early on its beginnings. By the Third Reich, early era SA daggers were made-Fisher estimates 1,000. In 1939, the company was owned by Arthur Schlimbach while located on Weyersbergerstrasse 8 in Solingen. In 1961, the company was still registered in Solingen, though likely not actively trading. In 1978, a "Josef Schlimbach Metallverarbeitung GmbH" metal processing company registered in Cologne, which survived until 1987.
