The Julius Ohliger, Stahlwarenfabrik, company began sometime around 1890. It registered with the Solingen authorities on April 29, 1897. Come 1900, J. Ohliger was listed as a manufacturer of knives and metalware. Come 1914, Julius and Rudolf Ohliger were listed as the owners. By 1920, household knives, pocket knives, promotional knives and cutlery were also added to their list of products. A 1925 Deutsches Reichs-Adressbuch für Industrie advertisement feature Ohligers pocket and promotional knives. In 1928, the company was listed at Gerichtstrasse 15 in Solingen. Come the Third Reich, early era SA daggers were made-Fisher estimates 4,000. By 1939, the company was listed as a cutlery and metal ware manufacturer, with Rudolf Ohliger as the owner. After the war, in 1955, the company was located on Schabergerstrasse 29. Two years later, on August 10, 1957, the company dissolved.
