Louper, Louis Perlmann, Flamme, Solingen | RZM M7/58

The Louis Perlmann Stahlwarenfabrik company was founded in 1868 by Louis Perlmann in Leipzig (Dessauer Straße 24). The "Golf" trademark was registered in 1910, "Louper" in 1913 and the "Flamme" trademark in 1915. In 1925, the company was owned by Johannes Friedrich Perlmann. Products were listed as: "Solingen steelwares, 'Golf' brand safety razors, razor blades, horse shears (Pferdescheren) and hair clippers." Come 1935, Perlmann was located on Blumenstraße 91 in Solingen and received its RZM M7/58 code. There was also a Berlin location at that time. Perlmann lost its RZM license, soon after receiving it, on November 19, 1935. During the Third Reich era, early HJ knives and SA daggers were being manufactured. Around 1938, Ernst Knappe joined as an owner. A sales catalog at that time had a heavy concentration on: razors, straight razors, blades and associated items, as well as working, butcher and serrated knives. The company finally registered in Solingen on November 24, 1941. After the war, Perlmann made: kitchen, butcher and professional knives, all types of scissors and shears and kitchen accessories. The company was situated on Kronprinzenstraße 127B in 1975. In 1986, Johannes Friedrich Knappe was the owner and the firm was located on Schlagbaumer Straße 114. No records have been found after this time and the company likely went out of business.
