The Rich. Drees & Sohn KG, Messerfabrik, company was founded by Richard Drees in 1911. It registered with the Solingen chamber of commerce on September 24, 1920. The company was located on Josefstraße 17 in 1939. That same year the owners were listed as Max Drees (Richard's son) and Max Hoppe. 1930's advertisements feature Drees marketing cutlery and knives. A few early era SA daggers have been observed though are considered extremely rare. Drees was not listed in the 1935 or 1938 RZM Survey. Their RZM M7/96 license was established on October 22, 1938. It was revoked in November 1940 (11th or 27th). The last known record of Drees was in February 27, 1989, when it registered with the district court of Wuppertal. It is assumed the company ceased trading shortly after that.
