Well here's one that's rare as hen's teeth! This is the first one I've ever owned, it's special and one of the 1st made. But I'll share more about that later. Look at that blade!! Wow the dark motto really stands out! The blade is awesome. There is some very minor age wear but no scuffs, no sharpening and a nice clean maker mark. The blade rates NM. The hilt is silver plated brass as indicated by its weight and considered very early. There are some light marks/wear throughout the hilt. The hilt has no bubbling and the plating is in great condition. The hilt has also patinaed nicely in the crevasses. The grip plates fit well with no cracks or chips. The screw holding the grip plates to the grip on the obverse rather than the reverse side of the hilt is a variant of the dagger known to exist and is genuine, Thanks to Tom Wittmann for confirming this. All screws are intact. The scabbard has some very light wear and is dent-free and there is beautiful bluing to the pebbling. There is great dark burnishing to the finish which makes the details really pop. This piece is really nice and very rare, as its the first brass hilt that I have ever owned, I checked it with Witty and he said he's only seen a few in his life. This is a great example!
