Getting tougher every day to buy unmessed with good condition SA's. Here's a nice one out of an advanced collection. Blade is a bright example with some light runner marks and a few age spots to the motto side. Crisp motto is well executed. The blade rates an easy Exc+/Exc++ with perfect crossgrain. Scabbard body is anodized with no dents and some factory lacquer. I say that, and there is some oxidizing. The fittings show light period wear but the ball is perfect. The fittings retain all their screws. Chunky almost black hardwood handle is very typical of what people expect with a F. Herder. No chips just a few small marks from normal wear. Eagle shows wear and is well fit. Roundel retains 100% of enamel. The handle shoulders and radii nicely fit the solid nickel guards. The crossguard is stamped "Nrh", quite correct see Fisher's reference. Blade is perfectly set into the crossguard. All the patina matches everywhere, never been apart. All the fits are all there! Comes with original 3pc hanger system. You will be well pleased with this one!
