The 13.5 inch blade is a triple etched example. It is in Exc+ condition with fine etching that depicts: bores, stags, dogs, birds and hunters all in a hunting setting. The spine is distributor marked "W. Michovus Hoflieferant Cottrus".There is some age grey and fading to the etch throughout. The tip and fit are both perfect, all of the plating remains intact! The spine pattern is a leaf motif. The hilt is a finely cast example with nice detail in solid brass with nice gilt. The chip-free bone grip plates have striations throughout, as they should. They do have minor wear but no chips or cracks. These plates are decorated with six detailed acorns. The "D" guard begins with a detailed hoof, and after passing through the crossguard, ends in a detailed hoof. The fluted clamshell has an Imperial guard crest pinned on it. Most likely the original owner had military service with the unit. The scabbard it black leather with all of the stitching remaining intact. The matching gilded fittings show matching wear.
