Early August Rother SA Dagger

Here we have an early SA dagger by August Rother. This maker is rare and rates 8 out of 10 on McSaars SA rarity list! The blade on this one looks good. The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfectly sharp point. The acid etched "Alles fur Deutschland" motto and ?August Rother Solingen? maker mark are beautifully executed! Nice crossgrain remains throughout. The blade rates a solid Exc+/Exc++. It has age grey and spotting throughout. The brown anodized scabbard looks excellent. It continues to remain completely dent free and retain some of its original laquer! The solid nickel scabbard fittings and crossguards are in great condition. The ball remains perfectly round and all four screws remain intact. The scabbard / crossguard fit is near perfect and closes with a snap! The reverse of the lower crossguard is Gau stamped "No" (Nordsee). The grip / crossguard fits are near perfect as well! The brown hardwood grip has a soft finish and looks awesome! There are a few pressure marks but no chips, cracks or splits! The solid nickel eagle is beautifully detailed and has a perfect fit. The SA roundel also has a perfect fit and retains 100% of its enamel. This one also comes with a well-worn three piece hanger, a $125 value in its own! Overall it's a great example by a rarer maker!
