A hefty piece that are hard to come by! The matte finished blade on this one looks excellent! The dark acid etched "Original Eickhorn Solingen" maker mark and proud TENO "Ges. Gesch" eagle, just above it, are dark, crisp and beautifully executed! Opposite to the maker mark is another acid etch that reads: "7832", which matches the scabbard throat! The tip and fit are both perfect! The blade rates an Exc++. It shows minor age grey and surface scratches, but that's it. The original black leather buffer pad remains intact. The scabbard body remains completely dent free and retains 98% of its original glossy enamel paint! Just the odd scratch and paint hit. The plated fittings look great with no lifting or discoloration. All four screws remain intact, although the lowers are replacements. The alloy based nickel plated hilt looks great! The TENO eagle shows beautiful details throughout and the burnishing really makes them pop right out at you! The hilt shows some wee bubbling spots throughout, yet it retains 95% of its plating! The grip plates remain completely crack and chip free! They are well fit and tightly secured with two turned screws. If you pull these plates off you with find the underside embossed with the Eickhorn logo. Please don't though, I just mention for interest sake. An excellent piece all the way around!
