Transitional Hitler Youth by Eickhorn 1939
Beauty blade on this piece! The acid etched ?Eickhorn Solingen? and "RZM M7/66? maker marks are both dark, crisp and beautifully executed! The ?39" (1939) stamp is also nicely done! This piece has a solid fit and perfect tip. The crossgrain also looks great in the light! The blade rates Exc++/NM. There is some minor age greying, one flea bite to the cutting edge and surface scratches throughout. The black leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The scabbard is steel based and black enamel painted. It has been cleaned and 10% of the paint remains. It continues to be completely dent free! The folded over brown leather strap has been period repaired and the top portion is loose. The top button continues to work well. The hilt is alloy based and nickel plated. The plating remains in superb condition, being 99% intact! There are two black checkered, celluloid grip plates that are tightly secured to the hilt by two nickel rivets. They remain in perfect condition! To the center obverse is a properly pined HJ diamond logo. It is made out of a tombak base with multi-colored enamel work. The enamel remains completely intact! A nice dagger with an excellent hilt and blade!
