Here's a fine example of a 2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger! The bright blade on this example looks good! It depicts nice crossgraining from hilt to tip. It has a tight fit and a perfect tip. This blade rates in at Exc/Exc+! It has evidence that it has been cleaned, there are a few wee hits to the cutting edges and there is age grey throughout. The original brown leather buffer pad remains intact, and provides a nice seal for the steel based, nickel-silver plated scabbard. The scabbard remains completely dent free and provides some wonderful details throughout! To its symmetrical body you will find random pebbling, along with an oak leaf and acorn motif towards the tip. It also has two separately inserted scabbard bands, with a similar motif. The top scabbard band was factory assembled upside down. The more efficient, single throat retaining screw remains intact! The aluminum based crossguard also depicts beautiful craftsmanship; with an outstretched Luftwaffe eagle clutching a swastika within its talon and the top side embossed oak leaf and acorn motif! The aluminum pommel and steel plated ferrule are also beautifully detailed with proud oak leaves and acorns. The orange trylon grip looks great! There is one crack and a few hits. The original double twisted brass wire wrap remains tightly intact. Overall this is a fine example.
