A solid example by Arno Wallpach! It is made of a die struck, zinc base that has been silver washed and grey painted. The obverse features; grey painted clouds with a lightning bolt / downward pointing zig-zagged arrow shooting from the clouds into mountain peaks. This is all below a Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika in one of its talons and is all surrounded by an oak leaf wreath that is tied together at the bottom. The reverse shows a full back and has the correct cast hinge, cast catch and round wire steel pin. It depicts beautiful and fine details throughout and nice paint remains! See page 58 of Previtera's: "Combat Badges of the Third Reich". A nice piece by a rarer maker!
