Flat-back variation! It is constructed out of a die struck two piece aluminum base that has been silver washed. The obverse depicts; a centrally placed first pattern droop tail Luftwaffe open winged eagle clutching a swastika in one of its talons, on a pebbled background, that is all encircled by a laurel leaf and berry wreath that is tied together at the bottom, which then all lies on a pebbled background. The reverse aluminum catch and steel prongs remain in excellent condition! The detail to the eagle is superb! You hardly ever find these eagle in this kind of condition! A unique and early Luftwaffe buckle!
