Though to find this maker! The blade on this one looks good. The dark and deeply acid etched "Blut und Ehre!" motto and "F. W. Backhaus Solingen Gesftzl. Geschutzt" maker mark are both beautifully executed! The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a sharp point. The blade rates an Exc/Exc+. It is slightly sharpened, there is age grey and surface scratches throughout along with a few nicks to the cutting edge. The brown leather buffer pad remains intact. The steel based, black painted enamel scabbard has about 96% of its original paint still intact and it remains completely dent free! The scabbard leather remains in great shape! It has all of its rivets and the button works well! The steel plated hilt is just beautiful! The black celluloid checkered grip plates are tightly secured and in perfect condition! The small early HJ diamond retains 100% of its enamel. One that probably won't come by again for a long time. Act quick before someone else grabs it!
