A tough piece to find and a great addition to your collection! The bright blade on this one looks great! The acid etched thermometer "F. W. Holler Solingen" maker mark is beautifully executed! The crossgrain is stunning as it runs the full length of the blade. The tip is perfect as is the fit! The blade rates Exc++. It shows age grey and surface scratches throughout. The original buffer pad continues to remain intact. The steel based, blue pebbled leather covered scabbard looks great! It has the odd pressure mark and scuff yet continues to retain 96% leather coverage! You rarely find original leather in great shape, so this one's is a great exception! The three aluminum based and silver washed slanted scabbard fittings show the correct chased line approximately 5mm in from the front scabbard fitting edges. The throat is integral to the upper fitting as we see on 95% of these. The scabbard continues to remain dent free and all three headless screws remain intact. The scabbard fits snugly up against the hilt. The aluminum based and silver washed upswept Customs eagle reveals tons of hand enhanced detail work! Just take a sec and look at the head, chest, wings and wreathed swastika. Very nice! The aluminum based, silver washed ferrule and pommel depict beautiful detail as well with the proud standing oak leaves and acorns throughout. The grip leather is in awesome shape with the same 96% coverage. It is correctly and tightly springy wire wrapped. All of the patina, color and age match throughout. A quality, striking piece worthy of your collection!
