A quality made piece! It is constructed out of two pieces of die struck, tombak that have been silver washed and gold gilded. The obverse features a silvered centrally placed massive swooping Luftwaffe eagle with outstretched wings clutching a mobile swastika in its talons. The eagle is the attached, at the wings, to a half laurel leaf and berry, half oak leaf and acorn wreath that is tied together at the bottom. The reverse is marked "30" which was discussed on WAF with no definitive conclusion as to why, still 100% original. It shows the correct soldered block hinge, soldered round wire catch, round wire pin and two rivets. The obverse displays beautiful details throughout the eagle and wreath. Wonderful silver wash and gold gilding remain! See page 67 of Previtera's Combat Badges of the Third Reich Vol 2 Luftwaffe. A nice and unique example!
