Here’s an early piece, must be Pre-1850! It is constructed out of a steel base that have been wood chip padded and covered in red felt. It also has a beaded brass and gilded half-moon end, along with a circular edging to the other side and a gold bullion twisted exterior. The top has a royal crown insignia. The felt has some fading to the obverse and mothing holes to the reverse. The button hole is reinforced with stitching. The reverse shows two brown leather pieces used to attach it to the uniform. A rare and old piece!
