A neat piece! Sonderfuhrer (Specialist Leader) personnel were non-military specialists who were considered members of the military and included medical, construction, veterinary, interpreters and staff duties. It is constructed out of a grey cotton and cardboard base that is covered in a glued on green wool and stitched on flatwire threads, along with four dark green twisted rayon stripes and is piped in a stitched on white rayon rope. The reverse shows the cotton base, to the center, that is surrounded by the folded over green wool covering, white stitching and is surrounded by that same white rayon piping. The piece shows mothing to the felt. A rare piece!
