A must have for SMF or variation collectors! This is very rare and I've only ever owned one other example! The blade on this one looks great! The dark crisp acid etched "Blut und Ehre!" motto and "SMF Solingen Ges. Geschützt" maker mark are both beautifully executed! The fit is nice and tight, the tip comes to a perfect point. The crossgrain also looks great as you shine it in the light! The blade rates an Exc++. It shows the common surface scratches and minor pitting/spotting throughout. The brown leather buffer pad remains intact. The steel based black enamel painted scabbard looks great. It is a rare variant as the top is maker marked stamped "SMF Solingen". Very neat! It continues to retain 90% paint coverage and remains completely dent free! The blackened scabbard leather is slightly crazed yet remains in great shape. It has all of its rivets intact and the button continues to work well! The steel based nickel-silver plated hilt is near perfect, with 97% of its plating still intact! The black bakelite checkered grip plates are in near perfect condition and are tightly secured! The small early HJ diamond retains 95% of its enamel. A nice early variant! Grab this one quick before someone else does!
