A nice looking tabbed example here! The rectangle buckle is constructed of a die struck steel base that has been green matte painted. The obverse roundel depicts an embossed closed winged Heer eagle griping a mobile swastika in its talons on a round rough background. The eagle is above a half oak leaf and acorn wreath that is tied together at the bottom and underneath the Heer motto reading: "GOTT MIT UNS" (God with us). The wreath and motto are in front of a decorative line type pattern which is encircled by two twisted ropes. The roundel lies on a smooth rectangular backing. The aluminum prongs and steel remain in excellent condition! Attached to the prongs is a green cloth tab which has been folded over and stitched in place. It measures approximately 2 ½ inch wide by 2 inches high. The paint remains 95% intact! A great piece!
