A beautiful etched example awaiting display in your collection! The obverse of the frosted etched blade, display an elegant bannered “Zur Erinnerung an meine Dienstzeit” inscription. The details to the wreathed cannon, National eagle and oak leaves are just wonderful! To the reverse is the stamped “Original Eickhorn Solingen” maker mark. All of the features are crisp and clear, just the way you want to see them! The blade rates an Exc++/NM! There are minor surface scratches throughout. The buffer pad continues to remain intact. The steel based, black enamel painted scabbard looks great! It shows some age spidering/wear throughout yet continues to 95% coverage and remains completely dent free! The original throat retaining screw remains intact. The hilt looks excellent! It continues to hold a nice and bright finish! The black bakelite checkered grip plates are perfect! They are tightly secured to the hilt with two rivets. The pommel has a well working button! This one comes with an age crazed frog. 3221 Artillery pattern, see page 122A of Techet’s “German Etched Dress Bayonets”. Truly a beautiful etch that would fit nicely into your collection!
