A beauty Kuban Arm Shield here! It is constructed out of die stamped, sheet metal base that has been bronze washed and attached by side prongs to a steel plate hidden by green wool and a glued paper backing. The obverse depicts an open winged national eagle clutching a wreathed swastika in its talons, surrounded by “1943” (19 ‐ left, 43 ‐ right) and above a bannered “Kuban” and “Krymskaja” (left), jagged rectangular line, “Lagunen” (top-right) and “Novorossiysk” (bottom-right). This is all in a shield type outline that is surrounded by quality green wool backing. The reverse shows all of its original paper backing, with only two minor tears to the top sides. The steel plate is still visible through the paper. It measures approximately 3 inches tall by 2 5/8 inches wide. An excellent example!
