German WWII > Belt Buckles > SA / NSKK >
Here we have a solid example of a SA belt buckle! It is constructed out a die struck brass base that has been gold gilded. The obverse depicts a centrally placed roundel which consists of; an embossed open winged SA eagle griping a wreathed swastika in its talons on a smooth background, that is above a half oak leaf and acorn wreath, that is in front of a decorative line type pattern which is encircled by two twisted ropes. The roundel lies on a rectangular smooth background. The reverse shows the steel prongs and soldered on brass catch. There is one pressure mark to the obverse and the prongs show some oxidization. Approximately 50% of the gilding remains. It measures approximately 2 ½ inch wide by 2 inches high. The buckle continues to retain nice detail! A great example!
